One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could touch and bless them.
But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples.
He said to them, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
— Mark 10:13-16
In Mark’s account of Jesus’ life, we read how parents wanted their children to meet Jesus so that he could give them a blessing. They likely traveled a long way to approach this holy man, and were disappointed when some of Jesus’ followers told him that he was too busy to bother with their kids.
Oh, man. This did not make Jesus happy. He scolded his followers, holding up children as the model for what his followers should be.
That is why we are HAPPY to welcome children into all our worship services. We are very aware that the presence of children is a gift to the church & a reminder that we are growing.
We also know that God put the wiggle & giggle in kids, so do not feel the need to suppress it in God’s house. :) You might want to sit towards the front, where your children can see and hear better. If you need to leave the service (even in the middle of the sermon), that’s okay! Feel free to explain to your child what is happening. Sing, pray, participate, & enjoy!
In each of our services we have a ConnectKIDS Moment with a message just for the children. Then they’re invited to head over to The Growing Place school to learn more about
We also have our nursery available for ages 4 & under for those littlest wiggles
ConnectKIDS during this COVID season
Keeping your children safe is our top priority. In our ConnectKIDS classrooms, we follow the same protocol as The Growing Place preschool.
