Worship @ First Coral Gables

At First Coral Gables, we believe that worship is a creative expression of Jesus' love for us and our love for him. It's an opportunity for the community to put the rest of the world aside for a moment and to recharge in the presence of the God who loves us.

At each service, our team of staff and volunteers gather to create a worship experience truly worth participating in. Our musicians pull music from a wide library of styles and artists. We utilize the many talents of our creative team to develop an engaging atmosphere. This sets the stage for a teaching moment that inspires and challenges. We hope that through worship at First Coral Gables you will have a deeper understanding of God and who God created you to be!

Our Sunday Morning Worship Services

8:30am Chapel*

This early morning service is held in our historic chapel (off Coral Way near the corner of Segovia). With a smaller group and more intimate atmosphere, this service offers a relaxed, less formal experience. As with all our worship services, music plays a central role with vocal and instrumental solos, and vocal ensembles.

* On the first Sunday of each month, join us at 8:00AM for a special MINI-CONCERT featuring some of Miami's most talented musicians. After the 8:30AM worship service, enjoy a catered Coffeehouse right outside the Chapel, courtesy of a generous church member, free to all!

11:00am Sanctuary

This traditional service held in our beautiful sanctuary (off Hernando, between Coral Way and Biltmore Way). This service offers a more traditional worship experience, with a fully robed choir, soloists, our beautiful Eldredge Memorial Organ, and often handbell choirs, instrumental ensembles, and children’s choirs.

About Communion

We celebrate Holy Communion the first Sunday each month in all our worship services. Communion is a ritual of the church, where we remember how on the night he was about to be betrayed, Jesus shared a meal with his closest friends. At that meal, he used bread and wine to describe the gift he was about to give to the world:

As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.” And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. Mark my words — I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.” Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives.
— Matthew 26:26-30 (New Living Translation)

Communion at First Coral Gables, and at all United Methodist churches, is open to all who seek to follow Jesus, regardless of age or religious background.
